"When we bought that building we had no idea why - we used it for a construction storage building for a long time.
At that time we were having Pizza parties at our house - sometimes upwards of 20 or more people would be there. Everyone used to ask to get on the guest list - always so much fun. People kept saying that we should open up a pizzeria.
Simultaneously we were sick of having to drive to Nashville for our Middle Eastern supplies or when we could get up to Connecticut for our Italian goodies. I always wanted to play store and the idea was born.
Al and his brother remodeled the building. The tin ceiling was there just covered up and very rusty in spots, They recessed the doorway, took up the floors to replace floor joists, rehung the good pieces of tin and had a boat manufacturer reproduce some of the big trim pieces."
